Fired my SS80 for the first time today.
I own a Glock 43. It shoots well and I shoot it ok. A little disappointed that the SS80 does NOT fit in my Alien Gear ShapeShift Glock 43 holster as the trigger guard is larger than the Glock 43 preventing the pistol from entering the holster. The DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster works perfect.
Have a problem with the SS80 build. Used lower parts kit from the GlockStore.com to complete the SS80 build. Took upper slide assembly off my Glock 43 to test out the SS80.
The slide lock lever did not fit the same way as the slide lock lever on the Glock 43. I was expecting spring tension during installation. I know the slide lock lever needs to be pushed down to get the trigger pin installed. It should then lock the trigger pin in place with some spring tension. There is no spring tension on my build. Yes I have had my Glock 43 apart more than what the average user would because I installed an aftermarket trigger in it.
It appears that the pocket (hole) that the spring for the slide lock lever goes into below the trigger pin is too deep on my SS80. Trying to figure out a way to “build up” the bottom of the hole so that there is spring tension on the slide lock lever. This should prevent the slide lock lever from bouncing up under recoil and locking the slide open while there are still rounds in the magazine.
