Went to Ace Hardware and got some 1″ 10-32 nylon bolts and nuts, then used a tool to take off maybe just 3/8.”
This was an easy build compared to a compact Poly80. Much less material to remove, especially the ‘plug’ of plastic for the barrel. I use snips to remove a lot of the plastic, and it cuts predictably without cracks or runners, if thats the term. But even though the frame is small and light, its still very strong.
The only problem I had was placing the extended trigger housing pin in my pocket, and having it disappear. There might have been a hole in my packet. I couldnt find the pin itself to buy on the website, but I discovered that the shaft from one of those Dremel tool bits (that have grinding stones glued to the end) fits perfectly.
So I might be the first guy to have a silver colored trigger housing pin in his ss80.
